Terms and Conditions

Thank You for choosing Move Smart LLC as your moving company. It is our pleasure to serve you and we will do so to the best of our ability. There Terms and Conditions are and have been created by Move Smart LLC to fall within the laws set forth by the Texas Department Of Transportation.

Prior to loading, the mover must provide you with a written proposal describing the services to be performed and indicating the maximum amount that you could be required to pay for their services. The proposal may be either binding or not-to-exceed:

• A binding proposal states the exact price of the move.
• A not-to-exceed proposal states the maximum price of the move but allows the mover to charge less than the maximum.

To receive an accurate estimate, you must notify your mover of all items to be moved and specify required services such as moving your items up or down several flights of stairs, via long carries to/from your dwelling or using an elevator. Some movers will provide services such as these at an additional cost. Mover's Liability

All licensed movers have a basic liability of $.60 per pound, per article. For example, if your 50 pound television is damaged during your move, your mover is liable for a maximum of $30.00 (50 lbs. X 0.60 = $30.00). While your mover cannot reduce the amount of liability below $.60 per pound, per article, they can agree to a higher amount of liability which must be agreed upon in writing by both parties and which may come at an additional cost to you. Mattress Release:

At any point during your move your move smart agent may consider it necessary to protect your mattress/foundation with a mattress bag. This is to insure the cleanliness and moisture barrier of your mattress/foundation. All inclement weather days including extreme humidity will necessitate the bagging of your mattress. Should you choose not to protect your mattress your mattress will not be covered for any damages whatsoever.

Weather Waiver

When weather is a factor Move Smart LLC will do everything we can to protect our customers articles. The customer will be responsible for protecting flooring (ALL). Move Smart reserves the right to halt the moving of any and all goods due to weather for safety of both our staff and our customers goods.

All time delays due to weather are to be billed at the standard moving rate unless otherwise agreed to in writing. In case of weather related delays, all binding price agreements are subject to adjustment including additional time and/or safety measures.

Down-Time:

Down-time not due to actions or events by Move Smart LLC will continue to be billed at the standard moving or agreed upon rates. All hourly-minimums and service fees will be applicable.

Common examples of Down-Time:

• Traffic
• Rearranging or Re-moving of furniture in the home
• Elevator Delays
• Loading Dock Delays
• Closing/Lease signing Delays
• Civil Standby
• Weather

Excluded items may be moved & when agreed to in writing (subject to additional costs). Please notify your Move Smart Agent in advance if these items may apply to your move.
